Fine watermist perfect for clean rooms
In HPWM firefighting systems, water flows at high pressure through specially designed and manufactured nozzles. This produces an extremely fine watermist with a droplet size between 0.020 and 0.300mm, which spreads three-dimensionally in the room within a few seconds and completely fills it with a dense mist. The use of pure water is particularly suitable for sensitive areas. No large water supplies are necessary. The water supply can be stored in a container (depending on the size of the system) and the retention of extinguishing water is drastically reduced.
Another significant advantage of a HPWM system in clean rooms is that only high-quality, corrosion-resistant stainless-steel pipes are used in order to be able to maintain the high hygiene standards.
Extraordinary confidence in watermist
Several laboratories with clean rooms have already been equipped with high-pressure watermist from AQUASYS, such as a laboratory in Berlin, which, as the first transnational state investigation facility in Germany, has been dealing with consumer, radiation and animal epidemics as well as disaster protection for more than 10 years. A production facility in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry in Germany also relies on watermist. In this case, the installation of the system was particularly challenging, as especially quiet and clean work was required during operation. AQUASYS therefore pulled in scaffolding in the metre-high false ceilings for the installation in order to ensure a smooth process and not to obstruct the company’s employees. In this project, AQUASYS installed the entire pump-room technology and the water supply in only two containers. These were placed one above the other next to the production building in a space-saving and inconspicuous manner.
In summary, the HPWM system from AQUASYS is particularly suitable for complex fire scenarios with different combustible solid or liquid fuels. In a large number of fire tests and continuously performed customer-specific demonstrations, the system shows proven best suitability for several fire classes. The protection of complex production sites, industrial plants, buildings and even tunnels is therefore possible with only one system.
