Two restaurants have been destroyed by fire in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
A fire engulfed a building in the Bur Dubai district of Dubai that housed the Beit Al Ravi Restaurant. It serves Pakistani and Indian cuisine and is acknowledged to be one of Dubai’s most popular restaurants. It is not immediately clear what caused the fire, although local reports suggest that it may have been due to an electrical short circuit.
A second fire broke two days later at the Badia Madhfoun restaurant located on Muraqqabat street in Dubai, gutting the entire upper floor of the restaurant. Several blasts were heard at the scene and the fire appears to have started in the restaurant’s kitchen. No casualties were reported and the restaurant was evacuated as soon as the fire broke out.
