Returning to the NEC, Birmingham, UK from 20th to 21st September 2017, The Emergency Services Show offers fire and rescue personnel and industrial brigades from around the world access to the very best expertise, equipment and support networks to prepare for future incidents and keep the public safe.
Terrorism and search and rescue are among the topics planned for the Lessons Learnt Theatre (sponsored by UCLan PROTECT) where emergency services and partner agencies will share their experiences of responding to real incidents. Experts from the National CBRN Centre will talk about operational responses to suspected CBRN incidents and British Red Cross will talk about its response to the Grenfell Tower fire in London. Paul Murphy, Director or Training, Mayday Rescue and Mounir Mustafa, Head of the Syria Civil Defense with present a seminar on USAR in conflict environments.
A new seminar theatre dedicated to the health and wellbeing of the emergency services will offer advice on health and safety and mental health issues such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Meanwhile innovations in command and control, PPE and drones and robotics will be covered in the Innovations Theatre.
West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS) will be running Extrication and First Aid & Trauma Challenges, providing an arena for some of the UK’s best rescue personnel to develop their proficiency levels in all areas of Road Traffic Collision rescue. Running alongside the challenges will be a CPD-accredited Road Safety seminar programme.
Around exhibition visitors will be able to see and handle the latest kit and discuss their needs with over 400 suppliers. In the networking hub of the show, The Collaboration Zone, over 80 voluntary groups, charities and NGOs will be sharing details of the support they offer the sector. Recognising the growing interest from abroad in the British fire protection and fire safety excellence, The Emergency Services Show has this year secured the support of the Joint International Fire Board (JIFB) and the Department of International Trade and will work closely with them to develop overseas opportunities.
Outside Emergency One/Clan Tools will be demonstrating the high reach of its turntable ladders and water rescue demonstrations will take place on the Pendigo Lake.
