Victaulic announced the fire industry’s first Installation-Ready™ sprinkler that is UL-listed and FM-approved: The FireLock™ IGS™ Style V9 Sprinkler Coupling and the corresponding line of FireLock™ IGS™ grooved sprinklers. The coupling was created to replace threads on both sprinkler outlets and sprinklers, redefining the sprinkler system design and installation in exposed applications predominantly in the fast-growing storage industry.

The sprinkler and coupling arrive to the jobsite preassembled, with no loose parts and require no prep prior to installation, also known as Victaulic’s Installation-Ready™ technology.

Currently, fitters must install a sprinkler using a torque wrench, which is not only strenuous to the fitter, but can potentially damage the sprinkler frame. Utilizing a mechanical connection with one-bolt technology allows the fitter to avoid wear-and-tear on their body and excess pressure to the sprinkler frame. The coupling does not require complicated training, tools or prep, eliminates consumables and reduces effort; engineering confidence into every build. “Victaulic is always on the leading edge with its products,” said Steve Kirby, Contractor, “The other companies always seem to be trying to make some version of what Victaulic has already created.”
