Nucore Group makes senior promotions to support ongoing growth

Nucore Group, a specialist engineering company, which provides safety products and services for hazardous environments, has made two senior promotions as it ramps up for further growth and the restoration of pre-pandemic trading levels.

John Moore and Russell Bell take on new roles in the company as product line directors.

Russell has been with the business for 22 years, since founding HVAC&R in 1999. He remained co-owner of HVAC&R until 2016, following that with roles as engineering director, services director, HVAC director and Nucore technical director. His new role will see him head up the HVAC Manufacturing, HVAC Projects, HVAC Service & Maintenance and Offshore Doors departments.

John has been with the company for six years, latterly as operations manager. He will now head up the Fire & Security and Fire & Safety teams, bringing them together under the Fire, Safety and Security (FSS) banner. He has more than 35 years’ unbroken experience in the fire, safety and security sector, working locally, nationally and internationally in field engineer, project engineer and operations manager roles.

The appointments are to support Nucore Group’s strategic growth plans which will see it invest in people, R&D, systems and its rental fleet.

‘Russell and John will be instrumental in growing Nucore Group’s business nationally and internationally across all the sectors we operate in, including renewables, marine, oil & gas, petrochemical and the public and private sectors,’ said Phil Davie, Chief Operating Officer. ‘Both individuals bring a wealth of product line experience in their chosen fields and will focus on actively seeking to develop new opportunities in key market sectors as Nucore Group returns to pre-pandemic activity.’

Combining the knowledge, expertise and best practice of both OTEAC and HVAC & Refrigeration Engineering, Nucore Group provides safety critical products, services and support from design, manufacture and maintenance to installation and commissioning.

Headquartered in Aberdeen, Nucore Group recently opened offices in Dundee, working with companies in sectors such as offshore wind, oil & gas, and marine as well as businesses working in fast-growing sustainability sectors such as hydrogen.
